Hippos and Inchworms

So I know I haven’t done a homeschool post in a while…

A couple weeks ago things got kinda crazy in our house.  I’ve debated about sharing details on the blog and haven’t really reached a conclusion, so I’ll wait for now.  Just know that the Lord is so faithful and good to us :) He has us in definite transition mode right now.  It’s a challenging place to be, relying on the Lord completely and waiting on Him (have I mentioned that I’m a have a plan, get it done kind of girl?)

Well, the Lord is stretching us to say the least!  It hasn’t been easy and I’m sure it won’t always be,but I’m thankful for a God who walks with us, a God who is faithful.

Well, with all the crazy, we slowed (not stopped!) on the homeschooling front.  Really we had to do the letter “H” over two weeks instead of one (ah, the beauty of homeschooling!!) and we still didn’t get to do everything that I had planned :(

But here is what we did get done, for the letters “Hh” and “Ii.”  Enjoy!

Here’s Ethan trying to be the teacher.  He’s so…helpful :)

Love me some hippo graphing!  We like to combine math and snack time (or really anything and snack time!)
Okay, the letter “H” was pretty short lived as far as pictures go, but we did memorize Philippians 2:3 which says,
“In humility, consider others better than yourselves.” (A much needed verse in the Treu house).
Okay, on to inchworms!  Does anyone know that song?  Inchworm, inchworm, measuring the marigolds… No one?  Just me?  Okay then…
Sometimes our friends come and hang out at school.  Here’s Spiderman with a slightly broken elbow :/
Ethan totally loves these wooden puzzles.
“Look Mom, all done!!”
Silas arranging inchworms from smallest to largest.
Here’s our verse for the letter “Ii.”  Philippians 4:13 says, “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.”
I pray that one day the Lord brings these verses back to their little hearts and helps them fully understand what they mean!
Look at that little face…I love those tiny little lips :)
Sorting uppercase and lowercase.  Ethan couldn’t do this the first couple of weeks.  Now he’s a pro!
Color matching…he can now recognize blue, green and orange consistently.  That’s all you need right?
Counting and number identification…and bed head hair with race car pajamas :)
Inchworm graphing…yes it makes me nervous to hand him a marker, any marker!  Not that he would go freehanding on my sofa…right?
I hope you’re not getting too bored with our homeschooling pics.  I know they can be repetitive.  For me, this is where we are right now.  These little hands learning to hold a pencil or match colored pictures, their minds soaking up knowledge.  I love what I get to do with photography, capturing families and being part of them treasuring their milestones with photographs.  But I almost love this more, capturing our days, and finding the sweetness even in the mundane.  Thanks for coming along; I like sharing the road :)
